INSPIRED BY THE GLORIOUS BRITISH CLIMATE
The fabulous new HUFFUR is the creation of people who thought the gilet [aka body-warmer, vest, sleeveless jacket,] was almost but not quite, the best thing that’s ever happened in the history of layering.
What these lovers of layers wondered, would be the ultimate, go-with-anything, year-round wardrobe favourite? What might a gilet be that wasn’t too tight, too heavy, too short, too anorakie?
The gilet (pronounced “Gee-Lay”) started life in 19th century France as a decorative vest and not a body-warmer at all. Why shouldn’t a gilet be as glamorous as originally intended, keep-able as well as comfortable and warm? Oh and how to design a hood that works, looks fabulous and be concealed when not needed.
If we fixed all these things we’d end up with pretty much the ideal top layer, wouldn’t we?
Meet the lightweight, longline gilet we call HUFFUR.
Reinventing the body-warmer.
